Beth and Mike describe themselves as classic, modern and laid-back and their fall wedding at The Whittemore House was certainly all three of those things. These two met in college, currently live in Washington, DC and wanted a celebration that allowed them to spend time with those they care about (and good food, of course!).
One element of the wedding that was important to Beth and Mike was combining their two families’ traditions (her Jewish and his Arab) but not sticking to tradition just for tradition sake. They created a wedding that was truly them: their friends read Seven Wishes (in place of the traditional Jewish Seven Blessings) and Beth broke the glass at the end of the ceremony.
Lissa Ryan captured some amazing portraits of the couple at DC’s Spanish Steps with just a hint of the fall colors shinning through. Joy & Co carried that fall theme through the ceremony and reception with a gorgeous autumn color palette and can we talk about those dahlias! The night was topped off with an amazing dance party with friends and family that clearly care about this sweet couple.
