For as long as any of us can remember, there has been two major things that separate wedding dresses and wedding suits. While there’s the obvious difference, the other is that dresses are purchased while suits are typically rented. However, renting isn’t the only option.
Kerilynn, a personal stylist with J.Hilburn, is sharing the five reasons why you should buy a suit for your wedding instead of renting.
#1 - Every guy can use a suit in their closet. There are so many instances in a guy’s life where he is going to need a well-fitting suit: interviews, weddings, charity events, work, reunions, etc. You will be so happy when that event comes up and all you have to worry about is if you have clean underwear that day. Grab and go!
#2 - Stop throwing away money. You are paying around $100 to $300 to RENT a tux. You are essentially burning money. Why pay money to wear a tux one time and send it back when you can invest in a suit? All you need to do is wear it 3 times and you made your money back! Remember, there are MANY occasions to wear suit that you haven’t even thought about yet.
#3 - “Wait, how many sweaty guys wore this before me?” I think that says it all. Think about how much you sweat in your clothes! Ok, now think about the 10 guys before you who also sweat that much during their summer weddings. Enough said.
#4 - Fit matters. You know those wedding photos of that friend where the sleeves of the jacket are hanging to his knuckles and the hem of the pants is pooling around his shoes, and he is standing next to his beautiful bride who looks like she stepped out of a magazine. Which one of these doesn’t belong? Rented tuxes are meant to fit as many guys as possible, meaning they fit no one. Which brings me to my next reason…
#5 - It’s your day too! You deserve to look great on your wedding day too. You will stand taller and feel like a million bucks in a suit that fits you and looks good! Everyone is going to say how great you look. PLUS, think how much better those wedding photos you invested a large part of the budget into are going to look when you and your lovely bride are looking fly as ish.
