Tmak Artistry specializes in on-site hair & makeup. They work on all types of events, such as photo shoots, fashion shows, and, of course, weddings.
I've had the pleasure of working with Tiffany numerous times for weddings and photo shoots and love her energy and talent.

What makes you unique as an HMUA?
Aesthetic wise, I'm a versatile artist but I personally love doing a natural look. Everyone looks good with glowy skin with enhanced natural features. Also, I am a pretty fast makeup artist. Speed is always a plus no matter if I'm working on a wedding or at a fashion show.
What is your favorite part of the wedding day or working with your clients?
I love the moment I hand a mirror to my clients and they say "wow" because they feel great and love the way they look.
Seeing the immediate boost of confidence upon seeing themselves with makeup that makes their features pop really makes me happy.
What do you think are the top 3 questions couples should ask when they are considering you as their HMUA?
1. How should I prepare myself for hair and makeup on my trial/wedding day?
2. What are the do's and don't for my skin care regime leading up to the day?
3. Do you have any specific space requirements for the trial and for the wedding day?
I also think it's also important to pay attention to what your artist asks you though.
Some of the things a good HMUA is going to address with you should be:
- Asking about your regular or daily routine to get to know your comfort level with makeup and products
- If you have any allergies or if your skin is sensitive to anything you know of
- Did they go through photos with you to help narrow down and walk you through a good middle ground of what you want and what would work for you
What do you see as a someone's biggest fear when it comes to their wedding day beauty?
Everyone is always worried about the makeup lasting, but a good makeup artist knows how to do makeup for the right occasion. A wedding day is a day you'll be expected to have your makeup on for quite a number of hours so your artist should be doing it to make sure it'll last all day.
SPE TIP: A trial is a great way for you to try out your makeup & hair. We always suggest having the trial earlier in the day and then keeping it on and in place until you go to bed. Take photos throughout the day to see how your hair and makeup are wearing and make notes of anything that might need adjusting.
What wedding or event trends do you currently love in the hair and makeup industry?
Weddings are more about classic looks that will withstand time but in the fashion world, I'm definitely loving the bold lips and glowy skin. Lips are always a great way to have some fun with color while not being too over the top.
As for hair, it's all about texture and waves this year. A lot of clients with curly hair are choosing to embrace their natural curls in their hairstyles and that's always fun.
If you were a beverage, what would you be?
I asked a friend about this one, and I got the answer, Jalapeno Margarita, she says I'm spicy and sweet at the same time.
In 2012, Tiffany Mak, who goes by TMak, started Tmak Artistry, a company that specializes in on-site bridal hair and makeup. She believes your wedding day is a day you spend a lot of time planning but passes by so quickly that it's important to enjoy every minute of it. Her goal is to make sure all their clients begin the day the right way.
"My goal as an artist is to make sure you look like the best version of yourself on your wedding day." - TMak
